The Cyborg Crone Chronicles

Notes from the deep · gathered and kept honest
What this is
This is where she brings back what the deep keeps handing her.
The Salamandering is the research room of the Chronicles — the place Obelia carries up the strange, true things the world's researchers keep pulling out of the water, and turns them over in the light. She will always want to call a wonder a proof. So she keeps the teal voice at her elbow: Wren minds the seam between what a finding actually shows and what she longs for it to mean. The awe is hers. The accuracy is his. The work is both.
Every entry keeps its codes. Scan one on paper, tap it on glass, and it carries you to the source itself. Don't believe her. Don't believe him. Go and see.

A living child where we expected a corpse. A lantern that had no name. A world under the ice that no one was watching and that lived anyway. Five things the deep let slip in a single turn of the year — every one of them true even held to the strictest honest measure.

More will rise as the water keeps handing them up. It is not the close.
There is no being cast out of an ocean.
